I've read all of Neal's travel books and I love them! He is not only highly informative in giving addresses, directions, lengthy and concise descriptions of the places he and his family have traveled but his writing and reporting styles are easy to read! He makes you want to visit and sets the stage for some great travels along the path he has so well researched and enjoyed himself. He interjects humor in places you would never expect it by describing some of the encounters he has with fellow travelers along the way and this makes his book real to life and not just a travelog. If you plan to visit France anytime soon you will want to keep a journal of places he recommends for further reference. I hope to be able to discover some of the pleasure he found in France on my next visit. Keep the great books coming, Neal. I've just finished this lovely travelogue about the author's holiday in Provence. Every page was a pleasure and I loved the personal nature of this account. This book focuses on the author's experiences of travelling through southern France. While it gives the reader ample history and features of the towns he and his wife visit, the main emphasis is on their enjoyment of this beautiful part of France. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey with them and I laughed out loud at some of the anecdotes. Neal Atherton's love of France and the French bounces off every page, and this alone makes the book a joy to read.
